Who has never seen the film directed by Wes Anderson “The Grand Budapest Hotel”… And has not been enchanted by the colorful atmosphere of an old-fashioned hotel, where practically anything happens.
The fairytale structure represented in the film, jury prize at the 64th Berlin international film festival, paints an enchanting, fantastic and irreverent scenario and leads on an adventurous journey made up of bizarre characters and ironic situations even at the limit of the improbable, while the spaces and the hotel environments they are an integral and fundamental part of the film, functional to the story.
The maniacal attention to detail of the director, a true master of the image, manages to paint scenes like paintings, in which a pastel and mischievous touch prevails, ironic and in perfect harmony with the characters.
Through a cartoonistic setting, Wes Anderson he makes his characters interact inside a Renaissance palace with immense and colorful spaces, which almost seem to suck in the people who populate them.
With its unmistakable "look", the drapes, the finely furnished rooms in perfect style of the early twentieth century, the Grand Budapest Hotel it entered the common imagination as the most fascinating and exciting hotel ever, even reviewed on TripAdvisor with Five out of five stars. Who can forget its characteristic pink-candy-floss plaster, the red carpets, the gilded decorations, the precious marble in the hall, the burgundy elevators and its spas that emerged from the Parisian belle époque.
Top marks, therefore, for this hotel that does not actually exist: a fictitious location inspired by the novels of the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig.
In an article that appeared on Huffington Post it is written that the hotel has more than 95 reviews and among these some refer to a few flaws of the structure: the absence of internet connection and charger for iPhone, all things that obviously make you smile.
Perhaps then it will be precisely for its enchanting atmospheres, born from a fervent imagination and which bring back to a childish world or for the dynamics of an excited and daring story told by the voice and dynamics of equally colorful characters, that this imaginary hotel has entered in everyone's heart, so much so as to deserve, even if it does not exist, the first place on the podium of TripAdvisor.
