The Ramp Agent is responsible for the following activities:

• It provides a central coordination point for all ground activities and operational teams, including the flight crew.
• Ensures compliance with the airport's transit and departure times (PTS - Precision Time Schedule)
• It guarantees flight safety (Safety and Security), performance, processes and procedures.
• Blocks turnaround activities that do not comply with safety and security procedures and operational processes.
• In some situations, the Turnaround coordinator assumes supervisory responsibility, while in others the roles are divided and assigned to specific individuals.
• It can be responsible for several flights at the same time.

In particular:

• Oversees refueling operations
• Checks loading/unloading baggage and disembarking/embarking passengers
• It requires maintenance activities and the De-icing and Anti-icing of the aircraft
• Catering
• Check whether special assistance is needed
• Ensures compliance with security protocols
• Guarantees the closing of all doors and the clearing of the runway
• Coordinates start-up and towing of aircraft

The Ramp Agent works within airport management companies, on behalf of air transport service providers and handling companies, both domestic and international.
