Transportation Club and trade unions Uiltrasporti, Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl And Ugl TA, they induced one national aircraft strike for Friday 19 January, which could create many problems for business and non-business travelers. An important strike that will affect the entire sector because it will involve the employees of the aircraft and airport sectors, the commercial employees of the airports, the flight attendants of the company Vueling and airport handling personnel (ground attendants, baggage, boarding and ramp services).
The reasons for the national air strike
The stop announced by the trade unions is due to the failure to apply the national collective bargaining agreement for air transport as regards contractual increases, the one provided by Transportation Clubinstead, it was proclaimed in protest against the "dismantling of Alitalia"In reference to the refenrendum of April 2017 and the plan of cuts and redundancies for the relaunch of the company itself.
In the release issued, the trade unions explain: "Although on 21 November last a first 4-hour strike action was carried out with the utmost adherence, Assohandlers and the associated companies continue not to apply the agreements signed with the renewal of the contract in December 2015, which provided for the recalculation of the hourly wages from 1 July 2017, including all contractual increases on the minimum tables in the calculation of variable and incentive items such as overtime, night work and holidays. It is necessary to provide for the correct payment of the surcharges and the correct remuneration, respecting what has been signed and what is due. Furthermore, we are concerned about the new regulation Enac on the organization of handling at airports, which could be issued in days and with respect to which we expect a clear signal from the institutions involved in defense of the needs of work".
The schedules of the national air strike
As required by law, there are warranty bands that ensure the minimum air service: from 7 to 10 and from 18 to 21 flights will depart regularly. On the website ofEnac, from Vueling Airlines and on that of Alitalia there are lists of guaranteed or canceled flights.
Alitalia, however, stated that "in case of cancellation or modification of the flight schedule"Passengers will be able to"change your reservation without penalty or request a refund of the ticket until January 26th"(Only in case of flight cancellation or delay of more than 5 hours).
