Logistics is a crucial element for the economy and society, yet, according to the Logistic Performance Index 2023, the Italian logistics has made no progress in the last five years, remaining in 19th place in the World Bank on the best performing dies.
In response to this, however, comes a new initiative by Tiaki Logistics, which is emerging as a beacon of hope in the industry.
Tiaki Logistics (tiakilogistics.com) is the first web platform in Italy dedicated to the promotion of sustainability in logistics. This initiative is the result of collaboration between EETRA srl SB, a company specialising in strategic consultancy for companies in the ESG field, and Claudio Honegger, CEO of Richmond Italia, a market leader in B2B events dedicated to logistics. These two players, commissioned by Assologistica, the leading Italian logistics association, carefully studied the needs and challenges of the sector.
Inspections carried out in 2021 by the Ministry of Labour on 90 logistics companies revealed irregularities in the areas of legal-administrative compliance and occupational health and safety. Furthermore, an analysis conducted by the Milan Polytechnic's Contract Logistics Observatory revealed the need to improve regularity and accountability in the sector.
Sustainability is key and Tiaki Logistics aims to promote sustainable growth in the industry, taking into account the environment, social responsibility and transparency. The platform certifies not only the compliance of individual companies, but also of complete supply chains, offering document verification, specific questionnaires and an ESG assessment of operators.
There platform proves to be an effective tool to educate operators on the regularity of their business activities, and the Richmond Logistics Forum, held in Rimini from 22 to 24 October, will be an opportunity to find out more about Tiaki Logistics.
The initiative aims to promote sustainable growth in the sector, creating jobs and opportunities for technological and organisational innovation. With a joint commitment to sustainability, Italian logistics can face the future with greater confidence.
